The regulation was approved on April 6, 2023, published in the official gazette on May 19, and enforced on July 1, 2024.

The category of electronic displays does not include these products: electronic screens, projectors, conference display systems, medical displays, VR display screens and control screens with sizes less than 100cm2.

Compliance requirements:

Saudi standby energy efficiency regulations do not require manufacturers to prove product compliance through designated third-party certification procedures. The manufacturer shall prepare technical documents to prove that the products comply with the regulations in accordance with Annex 7 of the regulations and make a self-compliance statement in accordance with Annex 5 of the regulations.

Technical standards:

The test report in the technical documents shall be issued according to the standards EN 50564 and EN 50643 specified in Annex 3 of the regulations. The technical indicators are similar to the EU standby power consumption regulations, but some products have different requirements from the EU, such as electronic display screens, dishwashers and washing machines.
